Simplifying Your Uni Applications
Every Ontario health, engineering and business program sets its own deadlines, supplementary applications and admission averages. The official pages are often stale or contradict themselves. Everything here is checked against the university's own page, and dated.
- 11
- Programs tracked
- Across five universities, every date checked by hand.
- 18
- Days to the next date
- Applications open on OUAC (late September) — Western University.

What catches people out
Every program page lists the specific ways applicants lose a place on a technicality. Three of them:
Health & Med
A high GPA does not get you in
The supp app is weighed in consort with your average, and the two compete. Applicants treating it as a formality after hitting 90% are the ones who don't get offers.
Honours Health Sciences (BHSc) — McMaster University
Engineering
There is no single 'Waterloo Engineering' code
The discipline you select is the OUAC code. Only one Engineering program can be your first choice. One alternate Engineering choice can be added through the AIF, but Biomedical and Software Engineering are excluded from the alternate-choice system and must be applied to directly.
Engineering (BASc) — University of Waterloo
Business
Two different Queen's deadlines on one OUAC form
Commerce, Health Sci and Nursing are due 1 February. Every other Queen's program is due 1 March. A student applying to Commerce and Arts in the same sitting has two deadlines a month apart. People see 'February 15' everywhere, assume that's when they apply, and miss the application by two weeks.
Commerce (BCom) — Queen's University
