Traps
01
BHSc and BMSc are different programs in different faculties
Health Sciences is Faculty of Health Sciences, direct entry to the degree, accepts any of three maths, chemistry recommended. Medical Sciences is Faculty of Science via Schulich, not direct entry, requires MCV4U specifically and chemistry. They get confused constantly.
02
Dropping Chemistry closes a module
SCH4U is recommended-not-required for BHSc. But the Honours Specialization in Health Sciences with Biology needs it to satisfy the first-year chemistry requirement. Drop Chemistry because the admission page says it's optional and you've quietly closed a stream before you arrive.
03
Kinesiology is a separate code
Kinesiology sits in the Faculty of Health Sciences but is its own direct-entry program, OUAC code EP, not EW. Applying to Health Sciences does not put you in consideration for Kin.
04
There is a progression requirement after second year
Continuing in the Honours Specialization is not automatic. Not as severe as Med Sci's Year 3 gate, but the School of Health Studies notes meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission, due to limited spaces.
